The New Generation
The Invasion: Attracted by the Protoculture spores released at the end of the Second War, the Invid Swarm descended upon Earth. They obliterated the weary Southern Cross forces in days, establishing hives across the planet and turning Earth into a farm for their evolution.
The Resistance: Years later, the Mars Base reclamation fleet launched a massive assault to retake the planet—and failed. Lieutenant Scott Bernard, the sole survivor of his unit, crash-landed in South America. Carrying a holo-locket of his lost fiancée and riding a VR-052 Cyclone, he vowed to reach the main Invid Hive at Reflex Point.
The Journey: Scott could not do it alone. He gathered a ragtag band of freedom fighters: Rook Bartley, a former gang leader; Rand, a scavenger; Lancer, a cross-dressing pop star; Lunk, a bio-maintenance engineer; and Annie, a war orphan. Together, they traveled the ruins of the Americas, fighting not just for territory, but for the very spirit of humanity.

When it became The New Generation in 1985, Stick Bernard became Scott Bernard, the Inbit became the Invid, and the Legioss became the Alpha fighter.
The motorcycle armor that gave MOSPEADA its name became Robotech's Cyclone.
